The company’s goal is to normalize travel to Africa and reveal the positive side of the continent that is not portrayed on a regular basis. Africa is full of vibrant city life, beaches and lively metropolitan areas. Yes, Africa does have beautiful safari and wildlife, but there is more to the continent than that.
The founder, Cheraé Robinson, states that the biggest misconceptions that people have about Africa are safety and poverty. She states society has taught us to think of certain places such as Paris as desirable destinations. Despite all the beautiful geographic features, Africa has never been seen in that same light. Africa has never been thought of as a vacation destination. That is the narrative Tastemakers Africa is trying to change. Africa has some of the most diverse and vibrant cultures.
